The heart of
the computer throbs like our own heart, it fill and it empyties, but millions
of times per second. For every stimulus it says yes or no, full or empty,
in a particular sequence which we call the binary code. Every letter, word
or symbol has a particular sewquencwe.
The code for
numbers 1 to 20 is shown below and is combinations of ONE and ZERO. It
is called Binary because instead of having colums for hundreds, tens and
units we have colums of 2. The colum can only contain 1. When another
1 is added the colum is full and it is "carried " to the next
colum.
